With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lori Widmer Fleming, 61, of Columbia, who passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
Lori was born on July 15, 1963, in Liberal, Kansas, to James and Joyce (Stundebeck) Widmer.
In her teenage years, Lori's family relocated to Salisbury, Missouri, where she grew up and graduated from Salisbury High School in 1981. She continued her education at Moberly Area Community College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Columbia College in 1993.
Lori spent much of her career at Boone County National Bank, where she worked for over a decade. In 1998, with the birth of her son Jacob, she embraced her true calling-motherhood.
On September 27, 1991, Lori married the love of her life, Andrew Fleming, in Salisbury. Together, they built a life centered on love, laughter, and family. They welcomed two children, Grace and Jacob, and Lori found deep joy and fulfillment in being present for every moment of their lives. Her steady love shaped who they are today.
Lori shared an enduring bond with Andrew-her partner in life and love. Through every high and low, their love remained strong. She was a devoted wife, an incredibly loving mother, and a woman whose warmth and presence will be missed beyond measure.
Lori is survived by her husband, Andrew Fleming; her children, Grace Fleming and Jacob Fleming (Victoria Travers) both of Columbia; her mother, Joyce Widmer of Columbia; and her siblings, Kim Kendrick (Charles) of Salisbury, MO; Michelle Patishall (Tim) of Pendleton, IN; Lisa Murphy (Mike) of Charlotte, NC; and Chris Widmer (Julie) of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her beloved father, James Widmer. Her family finds peace knowing she is reunited with him.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Parker-Millard Funeral Service & Crematory, 12 E. Ash St., Columbia, MO 65203, with a memorial service to follow immediately.
In memory of her late father James "Jim" Widmer, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society by clicking here or to The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri by clicking here.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker-Millard Funeral Service & Crematory, 12 East Ash Street, Columbia, MO 65203 (573) 449-4153. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.millardfamilychapels.com
