Ronald Lee Fleming

November 10, 1943 – July 17, 2025

Ron Fleming, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on July 17th.

Born to Robert and Francis Fleming, Ron grew up in Frankfort, Indiana, and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1962. He continued his education at Indiana University and later earned his degree from Franklin University.

In 1964, Ron married Judy (McMullen), and together they began a journey that would span over six decades. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to Ohio, where Ron served proudly in the U.S. Air Force at Lockbourne Air Force Base until 1968.

Ron built a successful career in purchasing at Capital City Products, where he not only excelled professionally but also formed lifelong friendships. He served on the Board of Directors for the National Institute of Oilseed Products (NIOP) and led the organization as President from 1989 to 1991. Later in his career, Ron and Judy moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he worked as a commodities broker at Deltacom. In 2005, Ron and Judy moved to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Ron founded his own company, RLF Commodities and enjoyed retirement.

Ron had a passion for travel and his work took him all over the world—from Singapore and Sweden to Brazil and Malaysia. He was a proud Indiana Hoosiers basketball fan, a wine enthusiast, and someone who genuinely cherished time spent with friends and family. Whether it was Friday night gatherings or breakfast club meetups, Ron never missed a chance to connect and share a laugh.

He was also deeply involved in his community in Grove City, Ohio. Ron led the development of Murfin Fields, was an active member of the Jaycees, and received the Service to Mankind Award from the Grove City Sertoma Club in 1991. In 2017, he was honored with the Robert Lewis Circle of Excellence Award from the Grove City Kids Association for his commitment to youth and community service.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Judy; his three sons and daughters-in-law: Marc and Mary Fleming of Grove City, OH; Michael and Melissa Fleming of Upper Arlington, OH; and Matthew and Dr. Nicole Fleming of Houston, TX. He was a proud grandfather to Jacob (Christine), Madeline, Charlie, Benjamin, Parker, and Addison, and a great-grandfather to Winnie.

Ron will be remembered for his warmth, humor, generosity, and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey. He will be dearly missed.

A celebration of life reception for friends and family will be held on Saturday September 27th from 2pm – 4pm at the Grove City Elks Lodge, 2140 Sonora Dr, Grove City, OH 43123. In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions be made in memory of Ronald L. Fleming to:
