SHELBY:Lori Fisher Hubbard, a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and friend to many, passed away on August 7, 2025, in Charlotte, NC, at the age of 61. Born on December 27, 1963, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, Lori lived a life full of love, laughter, and quiet strength.
Lori dedicated much of her professional career to Atrium Health, where she worked as a Lab Technician before transitioning to the billing department. Her colleagues remember her as diligent, compassionate, and always ready with a kind word or an encouraging smile.
From a young age, Lori embraced various hobbies, from crocheting and sewing to her true passion—reading. She was happiest with a book in hand or enjoying the soothing waves at the beach, finding solace and inspiration in the simple pleasures of life.
Known by those who loved her as quiet and reserved, Lori had a remarkable ability to make herself heard when it truly mattered. She was a force to be reckoned with, advocating fiercely for her family and friends whenever needed. Above all, Lori adored her husband of 21 years, Chris Hubbard, her children, and her beloved grandchildren. Her love and devotion knew no bounds.
Lori is preceded in death by her father, Richard Allen Fisher. She leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by her husband, Chris Hubbard; sons, Mark Crawford and Jeff Crawford; daughters, Ashley Miller and her husband Dylan, and Amber Brown and her husband Paul. Her mother, Martha Fisher mourns her passing, along with her treasured grandchildren: Kelsea, Mattison, Gemma, Kaylee, Camdyn, Brody, and Rhett and ; sister, Jeannene McCraw, Lori is also survived by her nephews, Jeremy McCraw and Richie McCraw, niece April McCraw, numerous cousins, and her best friend, Susan Clary.
Funeral services to honor Lori's life will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, with Pastor Jimmy Black officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Lori will be laid to rest at Cleveland Memorial Park, where she will be remembered fondly by all whose lives she touched.
In celebration of Lori’s remarkable life, let us remember her gentle spirit, her unwavering support, and the quiet strength that inspired all who knew her.
