Lori King Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery - Scottsdale on Aug. 1, 2024.
Lori Tope King, age 65, passed away in her sleep on July 24, 2024 in her home in North Phoenix. Born in Tempe, living most of her life in Arizona, she was the daughter of Barbara Kochert and James Tope. After graduating from McClintock High School, she studied at Arizona State University and went on to work for 40 years in the mortgage and insurance industries, earning industry recognition for her excellent work.
Lori did not attend church in her later years, but held fast her belief in the grace of Jesus Christ for her life and for others. She loved to read, play word games and puzzles, and spend time with family. For the past 12 years her greatest joys were with her six grandchildren. She loved them abundantly and laughed with delight when she spoke of them to others. Lori will be remembered for her larger than life laughter and her compassion and calming spirit.
Lori is predeceased by her brother David R. Tope.
She is survived by her parents: Barbara Kochert; and James and Lita Tope; her siblings: Andrea Cox and Michael Tope (married to Traci); step-siblings: Shari Alton and Diane (D.C.) Cox and Denise Tope (married to Michael) and David Tope; and her daughters and son: Ashleigh Allen (married to Devin), Jamie King, and Joseph King and child-in-law: Jo King; as well as her beloved grandchildren: Judah and Addie King; and Alex, Raine, Felicity, and Penelope Allen.
A funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at 10am at Hansens Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 E. Bell Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Fibromyalgia Syndrome Association or to St. Vincent de Paul of Phoenix

I had the pleasure of working with Lori , she was kind sweet and had a lot of stories and loved her family very much. I was just trying to reach out to her as i do from time to time, and sad to discover she passed. I feel terrible I did not have a chance to say goodbye, the last we spoke she was recovering. Prayers to Lor and Family. Lots of love

I have the warmest memories of watching, Lori, my 1st baby cousin that Barbara gave to us, the Corbett Family. We shared some childhood together in Phx. As we grew reconnected in LA. She became even dearer to my husband & me as we were the only Corbetts in LA. We shared holidays together & life together as young adventurous adults in the "big city"! When Lori went back to AZ. to live, work & marry, we stayed in touch. We have fond memories of her coming to visit us in CA. with her 3 beautiful little children, Ashleigh, Joseph & Jaimie, when we had our 3 little ones as well. What a great family time that was :)
Thanks to Barbara, Lori's mom, we were blessed with a "Corbett Cousin Reunion" in 2022 in Stone Harbor, NJ, where the East met the West coast family! What a wonderful, heartfelt time that was! That week together solidified our family bonds & we have been blessed to be more in touch & connected to Lori because of it!...sharing photos, texts. birthday wishes & prayers these past 2 years.
We share your shock & grief at her sudden passing. What a loss, but more so what a blessing to have had her for the years we did in our lives!
