Lori DeShannon Murphy Nazemetz passed away April 7, 2024.

She was born in Lexington, North Carolina on March 7, 1970. Lori graduated from North Davidson High School and went on to earn her BS in biology from UNC Charlotte in 1993. She worked numerous years for Carolina’s Medical Center in the kidney transplant lab where she earned a certificate in medical technology. She also worked for Quest Diagnostics, Sigma Diagnostics, and Becton-Dickinson. Lori was always into fitness and training. This resulted in her being named an NFL cheerleader for the Top Cats Squad for the Carolina Panthers from 1997 to 2000. 

Lori considered her greatest accomplishment in life her three beautiful sons that she cherished, Cannon, Zade, and Jagger who survive her passing. In addition to her sons, Lori is survived by her mother, Mary Morris, sister Carla Morris, brother Carlton Morris, and former husband and father of their three sons, Ken Nazemetz.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Murphy and sister, Deanna Murphy as well as her father, Eugene Murphy.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lori's memory to Angels and Sparrows of Huntersville, North Carolina
