Lori Packingham Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery Funeral Home on May 8, 2025.
Lori A. Packingham passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 16th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cedar Memorial State Room in Cedar Rapids.
Lori was born on November 26, 1962, in Russell, Kansas, to Gary and Carol (Tilzey) Herman. Lori had incredible work ethic and built a meaningful career as a Lead Mentor at Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, dedicating 27 years to her work with intelligence, integrity, and compassion.
Lori lived her life with joy and deep love for those around her. She enjoyed staying active and was a member of Pure Barre Fitness. She found great happiness spending time with her family and friends-especially camping, playing games, shopping, and going on adventures. Known for always putting others before herself, Lori lit up every room with laughter and kindness. Her wit, humor, and generous spirit touched everyone she met.
More than anything, Lori treasured her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother who never missed a moment to support and celebrate her grandchildren. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, strength, and joy.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Bryan Packingham, whom she married on August 30, 1986, in Cedar Rapids. Lori leaves behind her children: Danica Packingham and Leah Julich; her cherished grandchildren: Silas Armstrong, Avah Julich, and Carson Julich; parents, Gary and Carol Herman; and her siblings: Craig Herman (Jennifer) and Amy Herman. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Audra Gage, her nieces and nephews: Ayla Wheeler (Alec), Austin Gage, Bransen Gage, Mariah Beck (Connor), Calli Herman, Rebecca Townsend, and many great-nieces and nephews.
Lori was deeply loved and will be missed beyond words.
