Lori Sam Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 21, 2024.
Lori Sam (April 9th 1965 - Dec 15th 2024) Lori Kathleen Sam, born April 9, 1965, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, December 15, 2024 due to complications she suffered from multiple strokes. Born in Lordsburg, New Mexico, Lori spent her younger years moving with her family between New Mexico and Idaho. At age seven, her family settled down in a beautiful log cabin in Elizabeth Park near Kellogg, Idaho. It was here that she was raised by her parents Penny and Clinton Sharp, along with her 11 siblings. Lori graduated from Kellogg High School in 1983. After graduation, she moved to Couer d'Alene and attended North Idaho College. Her adventures then took her to the Grand Canyon and Bullhead City, Arizona. She loved working there and enjoyed the people she met at one of the biggest tourist spots in the US. Eventually though, her journey led her to the place that she has called home for the last 35+ years – Spokane, Washington. It was in Spokane that she met some of her closest friends. It wasn't unusual to see Lori and her group of friends participating in the Renaissance Fair, traveling to the Blues Fest, trying some local beers at regional Brew Fest, or heading to their favorite hot spot to catch the Gonzaga Bulldogs wallop another opponent. Lori was an avid Gonzaga Basketball fan. Even until her last day, her friends and family made sure to have the game on for her to listen to. Lori is survived by her mom, Penny Sharp and 11 siblings:, Debbie (Mike) White, Lynn Ehigiator, Sheila (Tom) Holmes, Glenda Clark, Gentry (Mike) Stoumbaugh, Don (Vicky) Woolman, Dee Miller, Lee Sharp, Barb Westfall, Kim Sharp, Goldie (Chrissy) Sharp, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by all of her life-long friends in Spokane. While there are too many of them to name, she loved every single one and considered them all family. She was preceded in death by her dad Clinton Sharp; brothers-in-law David Miller and John Westfall; nephews David Miller III and Brady White; niece Laura Stoumbaugh; and great nephew Sullivan Potter. The family would like to thank Hospice House of Spokane for their comforting and peaceful environment for Lori to spend her last days and Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane for the amazing care shown to Lori throughout her journey. Lori's request was to be cremated and put to rest by her Dad in Hunt Cemetery in Kingston, Idaho. There will be a celebration of life for Lori this Spring. It's not about the dates at the beginning or the end, but the dash that's in between. Thank you, Lori, for letting us all be a part of your dash. ~
