Lori Satrang Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 29, 2025.
Britton, SD: The memorial service for Lori Satrang will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025 at First Lutheran Church of Britton. Pastor Jesse Carson will officiate the service.

Lori's visitation will be Friday, October 3, 2025 at Marshall County Community Building (909 Main St. – Britton) beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a prayer service, and followed by a time of fellowship and a meal until 7:00 p.m.

Lori Ann Satrang (Peterson) was born on December 31, 1960 in Webster, South Dakota to Harland and Jane (Flagstad) Peterson and later joined by brothers, Jeff (Mary Lou) and Jim Peterson. Lori died September 27, 2025 at the age of 64 years. She was a strong believer in loving people as Jesus did - she cared for anyone she crossed paths with, loved on those who go unloved, and grabbed the moment with family and friends as much as possible. She married Larry Satrang on May 20, 1983. She had 3 children: Jenise (Billy) Morrison of Texas, Jenna Satrang of Texas, and Toby (Stephanie) Satrang of Colorado. She dedicated much of her time to her 5 grandchildren: Jackson, Tatum, and Bryant Engelke and Jonah and Camden Satrang, as well as multiple grand dogs (Jam, Dashi, and Margo).

Lori is also survived by multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lori was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alvin and Marie Flagstad and Narthur and Lillian Peterson; in-laws, Marvin and Delores Satrang; as well as aunts and uncles, Delores and Ollie Hayes, Bob and Maggie Oliva, Don Anderson, Beth Flagstad, Mayhlon and Cheryl Satrang, Tom Shedd; and cousins Fred Hayes, Mike Hayes, and Al and Sandy Haan.

Lori attended school in Webster and Britton, South Dakota. In high school, she made All State band for four years playing clarinet and was a wrestling cheerleader and student body president.

Lori and Larry met in high school and lived in both Texas and Minnesota as adults. They were married at First Lutheran in Britton, South Dakota. They resided in Corpus Christi while Lori attended nursing school at Delmar College. They purchased their first home in Apple Valley, Minnesota, where Lori worked as a nurse. Lori and Larry attended Hosanna! Church where they traveled to Jamaica on mission trips multiple times.

In 2005, Lori and Larry moved to Little Elm, Texas. They lived there until 2013, then moved to the San Antonio area for a few years before settling in Rockport, Texas. Though Hurricane Harvey damaged their home in 2017, this spurred Lori to quit her nursing job and work for Samaritan's Purse and assist in disaster relief.

Lori loved her family and friends fiercely, traveling often to visit relatives and friends across the US. Lori spent her summers at the family cabin on 9 Mile Lake in South Dakota. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, Grandma Lori, GiGi, aunt, niece, and friend.
