Karen dedicated nearly 20 years of her life working for Republic Services, where she was known for her commitment and diligence. Her education was a point of pride; she received a Paralegal Degree from South College and an Associate's Degree from Haywood Community College, showcasing her determination to pursue her goals.

A cherished member of her community, Karen was actively involved in her faith. She attended Victory Church for several years and cherished her time at Bethel Baptist Church in Canton during her younger years, where she was baptized. Her love for The Lord Jesus Christ was deeply ingrained in her heart, and it guided her throughout her life.

Karen's personality was sweet and quiet, endearing her to many. She was a devoted fan of the Duke Blue Devils and the South Carolina Gamecocks, and she found joy in simple pleasures such as reading books, enjoying coffee, and spending time at the beach.

She is survived by her loving parents, Selwyn Dwight Scoggin and Alice "Debbie" Cantrell Scoggin. She leaves two sisters: Gina Sutton and her husband Travis, and Brette Marie Scoggin; along with a beloved niece, Pharris Sutton, and nephews: Korbin Jackson and Kamdyn Francis. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by many extended family members and friends who were touched by her gentle spirit.
