Lori Jean (Hammon) Snyder, 59, of
Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on August 24, 2025 peacefully in her home, surrounded by family. Lori was born September 29, 1965 in Arkansas City, Kansas, the daughter of cattle ranchers Loren Calvin Hammon and Jo Anne (Rice) Hammon; granddaughter of Weylon Sephus & Cora Mae (Malcom) Rice and William Edward Hammon Sr. & Ruth Esther (Stricklin) Hammon. Lori grew up in Kay County, Oklahoma and graduated from Newkirk High School in 1983. She went on to Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa where she earned an Associate's degree in Music, then to Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, earning a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. Toward the end of her time at NWOSU, she had been working in a nursing home, which she continued to do after she graduated until she moved to Cucamonga, California. In California, she gave private music lessons and worked as a substitute teacher. She was also an activities director at a nursing home. She was an excellent musician-she had majored in voice, played piano and guitar, and led worship at Bible studies. Before too long, she met Ronny, her husband-to-be, at a Cucamonga Christian Fellowship Church picnic. Lori married Ronald Eugene Snyder on June 23, 1990 at Calvary Chapel in Bloomington, CA with Victor Van Zant, Tweed Moore, and Ron Dahlin officiating. They were married 35 years and shared a love of God, adventure, pop culture, and natural beauty. They lived together in Southern California for several years before their first son, Loren Micah Snyder, was born in 1994. The following year they moved to
Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where their other children were born-Jarah Ray Snyder in 1996 and Cambria Rose (Snyder) Troiano in 1999. She had a fulfilling career as a caregiver for many years. In 2000, Ron and Lori purchased their forever home in Bartlesville. Lori was infatuated with her home and loved enjoying early morning coffee surrounded by the lights in her yard, stargazing, and gardening. She loved her neighbors and neighborhood. She was very self-sufficient and always had a project going. Lori loved the things that made her happy with unabashed vigor. Some of those things include running, her favorite color-purple, Dr. Pepper, coffee, Reese's & KitKats (with milk), Star Trek, The Walking Dead, reading horror and sci-fi, and flipping her dogs' ears inside out (they loved it). She was likely to enjoy any movie or show where the bad guys got their just-desserts and she had a phenomenal sense of humor. She loved to laugh and tell stories (with plenty of hand gestures). Her Christian birthday was August 11th, 1978. She was a member of Christ Community Church. Firmly grounded in her Christian faith, Lori touched many lives with her empathy, compassion, and integrity. She was always so accepting of others and a giver at heart. She put the needs of others above her own and her reliability was unmatched. She had a no-nonsense, matter-of-fact perspective that was grounded in reality, but still took human emotions into account in a practical sense. She was fiercely loyal to her friends and family, but family was her number one priority. Remaining to cherish Lori's memory are her husband, Ron; children, Micah, Jarah, and Cambria and their significant others, Antonella, Sara, and Matthew respectively; Mother, Jo Anne Hammon; sisters, Nancy Hammon, Linda Knoke, and Lisa and Steve Funke; nephew Matthew Funke, niece Lindsey Warner and children Henry and Cora; along with her many close friends. Preceding Lori in death are her father Calvin Hammon, brother-in-law Don Knoke, and nephew Charles (Chuck) Calvin Knoke. Visitation will be held Friday, August 29, 2025 from 9am-10am at Stumpff Funeral Home-1600 SE Washington Blvd in Bartlesville. Funeral/memorial services will begin at 10am with Craig Ortwein, Joshua Wicker, and Jason Peterman officiating. Interment will be in Springside Cemetery in Arkansas City, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Hopestone Cancer Support Center and Comforting Hands Hospice in Bartlesville.
