Lori Gail Waits was born April 29, 1959 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Homer and Venus Pearl (Mason) Stone.
Gail was raised in the Pershing and Knoxville areas. She worked for the Knoxville School System before taking a job with Pella Corp. Gail was forced to retire, due to health issues, after 20 years with Pella Corp. In her spare time, Gail enjoyed shopping trips and any place that served good fried chicken. Most importantly, she cherished her family and spending time with them.
Gail passed away Monday, June 30, 2025 at MercyOne, in Des Moines, at the age of 66 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Raymond Stone.
Those left to cherish Gail’s memory include her daughter, Ali Leslie; son-in-law, Daryn Leslie; son, Joe Waits; granddaughter, Marium; life partner, Mike Waits and many other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
