Lorie Burt Obituary

Lorie Ann Burt, born on February 21, 1964, in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on November 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy built on kindness, care, and creativity. A dedicated caregiver, Lorie spent many years working in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant at both Briarwood Nursing Home and Nazareth Home. Her nurturing spirit shone through in every interaction, whether she was comforting the residents under her care or lovingly attending to her own parents, Joseph and Dollie Burt, who predeceased her.

Described as happy and upbeat, Lorie was a true caregiver at heart. Her infectious smile and generous nature touched the lives of many, fostering connections that spanned generations. Known for her love of crafting, she found joy in making cards for others, a testament to her thoughtfulness and desire to spread happiness through small, meaningful gestures.

A lifetime member of Ormsby Heights Baptist Church, Lorie nurtured her faith and community, creating bonds that enriched her life. The church was not only a place of worship for her but also a home where she shared her laughter and warmth with everyone around her.

Lorie's passing is deeply felt by her loving family. She is survived by her sisters, Sharon (Michael) Bailey and Betty Huber, as well as her brother, Keith (Kim) Burt. Her absence will be profoundly missed by many nieces and nephews who cherished her presence and the joy she brought into their lives.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Lorie's life will take place on Saturday, November 8th , starting at 10:30 a.m., with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Ormsby Heights Baptist Church, located at 2120 Lower Hunters Trace, Louisville, KY 40216. After the memorial service, the family invites everyone to stay for a reception at the church.

As the community gathers to remember Lorie, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of compassion, dedication, and creative spirit will continue to inspire those she touched throughout her beautiful life. The family kindly suggest that expressions of sympathy be made to her church.
