Lorilyn Rae (Hein) Ross died peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
Lori was born to Darlene and Donald Hein in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. She graduated from Lakeside Lutheran High School in 1985. In the summer of 1986, while she was working in the front office, she met Joe Ross at the Jellystone Campground, where he was a lifeguard. On June 11, 1994, they got married, and in the following years, she became a mother to Mason and Dylan.
Lori worked as a legal secretary in various law firms in the Milwaukee area. In her personal time, she loved spending time with friends and family. From Peewee leagues to high school, she was not only a mother to Mason and Dylan, but also a mother to each of the baseball teammates and athletes in the various sports her boys played. Lori was also a creative and artistic soul, and loved arts and crafts, making various quilts, pillows, and scrapbooks. She was great at taking photos, always finding the best way to capture the moment. She loved baking, especially during Christmas time. She would begin baking Christmas cookies shortly before Thanksgiving, and would fill up many 5-gallon Kemp’s Ice Cream buckets.
In 2018, she was officially diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease.
Lori is survived by her husband of 32 years, Joe; sons, Mason (Calli) Ross and Dylan (Lexi) Ross; brothers, Dan (Kristin) Hein and Mike Hein; mother-in-law, Jean Langenohl; sister-in-law, Jennifer (John) Buda; brother-in-law, William (Denise) Ross; along with an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Darlene and Donald; brother, Thomas Hein; and father-in-law, James Langenohl.
Please, do not send flowers. Please send any donations to Guzi's Hunt for the Cure.
