Bay City, MichiganWith heavy hearts, we say farewell to a remarkable woman, who passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at McLaren Bay Region, surrounded by the love of her devoted family. She was 96 years old.
Born on September 8, 1928, in
Bay City, MI, to the late Vincent and Frances (Wachowiak) Lewandowski, Lorine lived a full and vibrant life, marked by unwavering strength, humor, and an undeniable zest for living. She dedicated many years of hard work to Prestolite before enjoying a well-earned retirement. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted member of All Saints Parish–St. James Church, where her presence was cherished by her fellow parishioners.
Lorine was known for her feisty spirit, sharp wit, and boundless love for her family. She found joy in life's simple pleasures-playing cards, indulging in trips to the casino, and showering her nieces and nephews with affection. Her shopping excursions were legendary. She had a no-nonsense attitude, but possessed a heart of gold, always offering warmth, laughter, and unconditional love to those fortunate enough to know her.
Her legacy is one of resilience, devotion, and deep familial bonds. She leaves behind a family who adored her and will forever carry her humor and love in their hearts. Lorine's presence in this world will never be forgotten, and her spirit will continue to shine in the lives of those she touched.
Left to cherish her memory is her brother James Lewandowski, sister Janet Syring, sister-in-law Marian Lewandowski, stepson Rich (Carol) Syring and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Lorine was predeceased by her husband Harvey, four brothers: John (Rita) Lewandowski, Clarence (Josephine) Lewandowski, Edwin and Ernie Lewandowski, two sisters Rita Lewandowski and Laetitia "Tish" Talaga, sister-in-law Mary Ann Lewandowski, brother-in-law Harvey Syring, Jr, two stepchildren Lawrence (Arlene) Syring and Marlene (Leonard) Bukowski and nephew Bruce Lewandowski.
The Funeral Mass for Lorine will be celebrated Friday. May 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at All Saints Parish-St. James Church, 710 Columbus Ave.,
Bay City, MI 48708. Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera will celebrate Mass, and interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the church on Friday May 30th from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials donations to
