Lorraine M. Cardi

Lorraine M. Cardi, 77, of Cross Street, Westerly, passed away at her home on Monday, August 11, 2025.
Born in Warwick, RI, "Lori" was the devoted daughter of the late William and Rose Cardi.
A graduate of Pilgrim High School in Warwick, Lorraine spent many years as the office manager at Promet Marine Services Corp. in Providence, where she worked with dedication until her retirement.
Lori's childhood was filled with joyful memories shared with her extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to holidays, weekends were spent together enjoying Arcadia National Park or Rhode Island beaches. As a child, she especially loved picking blueberries for her father's bakery.
Lori enjoyed music, scenic drives, shopping, reading, and spoiling her beloved "grand-kitties." She was a devoted daughter who lived by the values her parents instilled in her-especially the belief that family always comes first. During her retirement, she lovingly cared for her mother, demonstrating daily the depth of her devotion.
Her greatest joy in life was her daughter, with whom she shared a unique and unbreakable bond. She always told her, "you are my one and only." Lori was a source of courage and resilience, and her daughter's fondest memories are her laughter and hearing her mom humming or singing in the car and watching her tap her hands and feet to music with perfect rhythm. Lori was loyal, hardworking, generous, and strong. Even during her final months, she faced health challenges with hope and determination, always believing she would recover.
She was the person her daughter wanted beside her through the best and worst times-and always was.
Lori and her daughter are incredibly grateful to the dedicated critical care teams at Lawrence + Memorial and Yale Hospitals. Their compassionate care during her many hospitalizations since May brought comfort and hope. Lori was deeply touched by the kindness of her nurses and medical providers, who made her feel truly cared for.
She is survived by her daughter, Kerrie Selmanie of New London, CT; her cousin Marie Palumbo and family of Johnston, RI; her cousin Robert Misurelli and family of Cranston, RI; and additional cousins in Connecticut and Pennsylvania. She also leaves behind her cherished friends, Janet and
