Lorraine A. Cox

MUNCIE – Lorraine A. (Krolikowski) Cox, 94, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Riverview Hospital, Noblesville.
She was born on February 29, 1928 in Loop City, Nebraska, the daughter of Peter and Maggie Krolikowski, the youngest daughter of eleven children.
Lorraine was married for 61 years to her late husband, Vernon F. A. Cox. They met while he was traveling with big bands in the west as a drummer. They were married in 1949. They settled in Muncie and he retired from Borg Warner in 1981.
Lorraine was employed at R.J. Whitinger & Co. for thirteen years. She enjoyed traveling with her family, her favorite place being Anna Maria Island, Florida. Lorraine was a member of the Muncie Elks and American Legion in both Cammack and Yorktown. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Lorraine was an avid golfer and played quite frequently and even got a hole in one, when she was 81 years old. She enjoyed life, the weekly drawing at the Elks, and being with
friends at Mancino's in Muncie and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include five children, Debbie Montgomery (Brian) of Wake Forrest, NC, Terry Cox of Amelia Island, FL, Mitch Cox (Karen) of Bradenton, FL, Angie Bell of Indianapolis and Shelly Smith (Mendel) of Zionsville; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sister, Carolyn Nahorny of Lincoln, NE; brother, Ronnie Krolikowski of Bella Vista, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings, and husband, Vernon F.A. Cox on September 30, 2010.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie. Entombment will follow at Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Following the burial, everyone is invited to the Elks Lodge, 909 N. County Road 500 West, Muncie, IN, 47304 to celebrate Lorraine's life.
Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Road, Muncie from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022.
