Lorraine M. De Forest

Lorraine (Danquer) De Forest, 92, of Liverpool passed away peacefully on Thursday at her home, with her children at her side. She was born in Syracuse NY, growing up in "skunk city", graduating from St Lucy's School. She married her high school sweetheart, Russell De Forest Sr., raising nine children. She attended Central Tech in Syracuse for a Medical Assistant degree though she really wanted to be a surgeon, but in the era, she lived, female surgeons were unheard of. Lorraine then went to work as an O.R. Assistant at Crouse Hospital for 40 plus years, retiring in 2018. She was both a long time British car enthusiast and member of the New England MGT Register, traveling throughout New England for many years in her 1947 MG TC with her late husband, Russ, prior to his passing and continued on with her children. Lorraine is predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Russell A. De Forest, Sr, her two siblings, Shirley Pirong and Edward Danquer, her grandson, Gary Villeneuve, her sons-in-law Robert Felicia and Keith Hollis.
Serving to cherish her memory are her four sons; Russell Jr. (Sharon), Steven (Cheryl), Brian (Sherry), Kevin (Melissa), five daughters; Jaime (Michael), Lynn, Kim (Dan), Tracey, Terry (Michael), 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Route 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 21 Cherry Tree Cir, Liverpool, NY, with the Rite of Committal and entombment to follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Mausoleum, Baldwinsville.
