Lorraine Froment Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Quinn Funeral Home - Warwick on Jul. 18, 2025.
Lorraine I. Froment passed away on July 16, 2025, at the age of 90. She was the beloved wife of the late Edmond F. Froment, Jr. with whom she shared 67 beautiful years of marriage. Born in 1934, she was the eldest of three daughters born to the late Wilfred LaVoie and Valerie (LaFontaine) LaVoie. She was also privileged to call Laurenzo Alix her father who adopted her and her sisters when her dad passed away unexpectedly at a young age.

Lorraine was the best mother anyone could ask for to Karen E. Slawski (husband, Don), David R. Froment (wife, Jill) and Kristen E. Bowerfind (husband, Craig); she was also the cherished Mémère of Alex, Mikayla, Benjamin and Jenna. She was the beloved older sister of the late Theresa Lambert and surviving sister Anita Paré. She was also loving "Aunt Lorraine" to many nieces and nephews, and loved her wide circle of friends (with whom she enjoyed playing hi-lo-jack and reportedly often won). Lorraine always wanted everyone around her to be happy and was always smiling. She brought light and joy to everyone's life.

Lorraine was the heart and soul of her family, nourishing them with her boundless love, always happy spirit, and great cooking. She always had a three-course dinner on the table for her family and instilled in her children a love of cooking. Lorraine was also known as the "Appetizer Queen"; she never met a recipe she didn't want to make! There was nothing she loved more than entertaining family and friends… from hosting fondue parties to dinner parties and holidays, to the annual Alix Family Clambakes which is a tradition that continues today.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures. Together with her husband, Lorraine introduced her family to the joys of camping; the family spent many wonderful summer vacations at campgrounds around the Northeast. Lorraine especially loved the beach and may have spent more time in the water than her young children did. She also

loved to go on both short and long car rides, where the family made many wonderful memories.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 10:00 am in Ss. Rose and Clement Church, 111 Long St., Warwick. The family will receive guests in the vestibule of the church from 9:15-9:50. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in the Rhode Island Veterans' Cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 N. Main St., Providence, RI 02901 in memory of Lorraine Froment.
