The funeral service for Lorraine Krage, 92, of Great Falls, MT, formally of Aberdeen, SD, will be 10:30am, Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Alan Ludwig officiating. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Lorraine died Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Benefis Peace Hospice Facility in Great Falls, MT.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm, Wednesday, followed by a prayer service at 7:00pm at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 South Main Street.

Lorraine Krage was born on November 14, 1932, in Roscoe, SD, to Edward and Minnie (Langfried) Knittel. The family worked for farmers in the Roscoe/Ipswich/Loyalton area. She attended area schools and boarded with the Loretta Aman family while attending Ipswich School. Her family moved to Aberdeen after her sophomore year. She worked for JC Penney's while attending Central High School where she graduated in 1951.

She married Harold Krage on December 23, 1951, and lived in Mount Clemens, Michigan, where Harold served at the Selfridge Air Force Base until he was called home to work on the family farm at Westport, SD. They were blessed with five children, four of whom died in infancy, leaving Nancy the only survivor. Each child will always be a large part of her soul. She moved to Aberdeen in 1977 where she enjoyed many years with her many friends and family.

After being a rancher's wife for 25 years, she worked at Simmons Junior High School for 25 years as a Special Education para-educator and met many lifelong friends. She was a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital for 15 years and served as a 4-H club leader while also assisting at the Brown County Fair concessions. Beyond all this help for everyone else, she was a charter member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where she served as a member of the Altar Circle.

The last five years of Lorraine's life she moved to Great Falls, MT, where she lived with her daughter, Nancy Scott.

Grateful for having shared Lorraine's life are her daughter, Nancy Scott; grandchildren, Shanna Scott Majors, Sheila (Spencer) Nardelli, Bo (Amy) Scott, Codi Scott, Will Scott, and Camille (Ryan) Cobb; and great grandchildren, Piper, Anderson, and Wyatt Majors, Elvis and Tabitha Nardelli, Aspen, Bridget, Booker, and Bronc Scott, Alexandria Scott, and Roman, Carlie, and Billy Cobb.

Preceding Lorraine in death are her parents, Edward and Minnie Knittel; children, Baby, Penny, Jayne, and Nathan Krage; and siblings, Marvin (Virginia) Knittel, Lucille (Thomas) Landrum, and James (Sharon) Knittel.
