Lorraine Irene Meteyer, 93, of New Baltimore, MI, made her journey home on September 9th, 2024, after living a vibrant and full life.
Born on June 16th, 1931, to the late Clarence and Lottie Friday, Lorraine was the youngest of two children. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bennie, who tragically lost his life in a car accident at the age of 25.
On May 4th, 1957, Lorraine wed James Meteyer at St. John's Lutheran Church, and spent 44 wonderful years building a warm and nurturing home until his passing on August 29th, 2001.
Lorraine was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A woman of deep faith, she was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in New Baltimore. To know Lorraine was to love her; her radiant smile and infectious laughter brought joy to those around her. She dedicated herself to caring for others, always prioritizing their feelings and needs, leaving a lasting impact through her kindness and ability to find joy in every moment.
She is survived by her children, Paul (Linda) Meteyer and Sandra (Rodger) Rogensues; her grandchildren, Melissa (Michael) Westrick, Allison (David) LaPointe, Kelsey Rogensues; and her greatest pride, her great-grandchildren, Riley, Reid, Olivia, and Kennedy.
Lorraine's life was a true blessing. Her memory, values, and traditions will remain a cherished treasure. She is deeply loved by all who knew her and will be profoundly missed.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 15th, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home located at 35259-23 Mile Road in New Baltimore. Lorraine will lie Instate from 10:00 a.m. until an 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Monday, September 16th, at St. John's Lutheran Church, located at 51161 Maria Street in New Baltimore, MI 48047.
