Lorraine G. Musak

Lorraine Musak (nee Gierut), age 100, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1969, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at her home at Independence Village in Naperville. She was born on January 19, 1925, in Chicago.

Beloved wife of the late Lawrence H. "Larry" Musak, whom she married April 14, 1946 and who preceded her in death on December 7, 2004, loving mother of Gregory (Madelaine) Musak of Dallas, TX and Christine (Webb) Davidson of Naperville, adored grandmother of James (Aubrianne) Davidson of Pittsburgh, PA, devoted daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Gierut, dear sister of Edward (Zoila) Gierut of Orland Park, IL, adored aunt of many, including Michelle (Chris) Ranney, fond great-aunt and friend of many.

Lorraine was born in the giddy days of Prohibition, raised in the desolate days of the Great Depression then served as a civilian worker for the United States Army Quartermaster Corps - she always giving fully of herself. After marriage she saw her husband through twelve years of night school and proceeded to do the same for herself, earning a teacher's certificate. Lorraine then devoted her life and love to raising her wonderful children, Christine and Greg. After teaching for twenty years, she devoted herself to her garden- especially her notable lily collection.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, 9:00-11:00 AM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL 60540.

A celebration of Lorraine's life will follow Saturday, 11:00 AM in the funeral home. The service will be live-streamed below.

Interment: Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton, IL
