LORRAINE GERALDINE PETTY

Lorraine Geraldine Petty, age 73, entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Saturday, May 10, 2025. She was a native of Barataria, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Lorraine attended Lincoln High School and was a former cook at Boutte’s Restaurant. Beloved companion of the late Lionel Jackson, Sr. Devoted mother of Elton Holmes, Jr., Lionel Jackson, Jr., Lashana Holmes, Ladria Petty, and Kimberly Petty. Loving daughter of the late Joseph B. Petty and Stella Adams Petty. Sister of Sherman Petty, Gloria LaCour, Nadine Petty, and the late Aline Petty, Jerry Petty, Sr., Audrey Bouisse, Gayann Palmer, and Nathan Petty. Also cherishing her memories are 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Greater St. John Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Greater St. John Baptist Church, 2823 Privateer Blvd., Barataria, LA on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:00a.m. Pastor Harold Clark, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Greater St. Baptist Church Cemetery-Barataria, LA.
