Lorraine Wise Obituary

Lorraine Emily "Andy" (Anderson) Wise, 84, passed peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025. The eldest child of Russell J. and Sarah G. Anderson, she was born on Oct. 6, 1940, and graduated from Springdale High School. She served in the US Women's Army Corps (WACs). She cared deeply for people and animals, especially cats, and delivered newspapers in both East Oakmont and Springdale. She is survived by her four sisters, Sandra Cserr, Audrey Yeck, Dinah Gustavson, and Geraldine "Gerry" Sokol; her three brothers, Dwight Anderson, Ronald Anderson, and Leroy Anderson; her four children, Alton B. Wise, Bronwyn S. Hutchins, Culmer H. Wise, and Dagmar T. Cole; her four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, in CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pittsburgh Street, Springdale. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the American Cancer Society or Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley. www.jarviefuneralhome.com
