Lot L. (Choch) Smith II "Caajišgacga", age 59, of Vesper passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025 at his residence.
Commitment services will be at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at the Cex Haci Community Building in Nekoosa. Travis Cloud will officiate. Burial will be next to his beloved parents at the Hemlock residence. Visitation for relatives and friends will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Wednesday at Cex Haci. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, is honored to be assisting the family.
Lot was born April 25, 1966 in Wisconsin Rapids to Rev. Anthony M. and Hope B. (Thunder) Smith Sr. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a handyman and carpenter and held several different positions over the years including being general manager for Ho-Chunk Construction and owner/operator of ECM Enterprises. He also sold automobiles for Rapids Ford, Greg Ellious Motors, and Zahn's Auto. He was also a caretaker for the Dexterville Cemetery.
Lot was a faithful member of the Native American Church. He was always offering prayers for friends and relatives, would run funeral meetings, perform baptisms, and blessed people's homes. He was a strong advocate for tribal rites.
Lot enjoyed cooking and taking care of relatives. He was an avid disc golfer.
Lot is survived by his children: Danielle Smith (husband Michael) and their children Bradlee and Jack, Isaac Smith and his daughter Aurora, Taylor Smith Sr. (wife Joan) and their children Taylor Jr., Pauline, and Willow, Summer Smith and her children Lotate and Yakonah, and Brooke Matoxen-Smith and her son Easton; his brother, Anthony Smith Jr. (wife Carla); sisters: Mary Smith (husband Babe) and Isabel Maisells (husband Brandon); his dog Soup; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Fawn.
