Publish in a newspaper

The family of Lou Allen Rogers is saddened to announce her sudden passing on October 6, 2025, after a brief illness. Lou was the daughter of June Allen Rogers and the late Burnell Thomas Rogers. She was a sister to Tommy Rogers (Bridget) of Pine Knoll Shores, NC; Brad Rogers (Betty) of Bushy Fork, NC; and the late Donny Rogers. She was an aunt to Justin Rogers (Jillian) of Jacksonville, FL; Patrick Rogers (Kelly) of Lombard, IL; Joshua Rogers (Laurie) of Hurdle Mills, NC; and Joseph Rogers of Beaufort, NC; and a great-aunt to Jackson Rogers and Charleigh Rogers. Lou also treasured her many cousins, extended relatives, and countless friends.
Lou's life remained connected to the Bushy Fork community and to Salem Methodist Church, even as she built a life in Raleigh, NC, where she lived for more than fifty years. She valued the fellowship of her church and community, and her friendships brought her joy.
Lou dedicated thirty years of service to the State of North Carolina, including work as a special agent with the State Bureau of Investigation. Following her retirement, she continued her career as Vice President of Vendor Marketing for Allied Universal, formerly G4S Security Systems.
She will be remembered for her devotion to family, her loyalty to friends, her love of community, and her service to others. For weekly family gatherings, Lou baked multilayered cakes and whipped up meringues for her pies that towered over any other dish at the table. Her favorite kind of adventure was visiting state capitols and presidential libraries across the nation, especially with her dear friend Staci Meyer. She saw forty-six state capitols and nearly every presidential library. Lou's love for Christmas decorations was a year-round project-she made wreaths and collected ornaments for her themed trees and for everyone else. Lou held a deep affection for her nephews, Justin, Patrick, Joshua, and Joseph and for her great-nephew, Jackson, and great-niece, Charleigh, and cherished the joy they brought into her life.
The family thanks the doctors, nurses, and other professionals at Person Memorial Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke University Medical Center, and Duke Hospice, in addition to the Person County EMS, who cared for Lou with compassion and professionalism. Their support brought comfort to her and to our family, and we are deeply grateful.
Lou's life will be celebrated at a future service alongside her parents' memorial. Until then, her family asks for continued prayers and support during this difficult time.
Those who wish to honor Lou's memory may offer contributions to Backpack Pals of Salem Methodist Church of Person County, a ministry to which she devoted her time, energy, and gifts.
The family will receive friends 2-4PM Sunday, October 12, 2025 at Salem Methodist Church.
Condolences may be sent to www.brooksandwhite.com.
