Burlington - Lou Ann Stewart, 69, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Alamance County, she was born March 11, 1954 to the late William Frederick “Fred” Stewart, Sr. and Mildred Marie Hinshaw Stacey.
Lou Ann attended Trinity Worship Center. She worked in the electronic industry for many years in California and North Carolina and with Electrolux Inc. She was also a certified cosmetologist. Lou Ann enjoyed hiking, camping, cooking and was a wonderful baker.
She is survived by her son, Matthew N. Boggs of Asheville; companion of 35 years, Billy W. Boggs of the home; a sister, Tammy Lea Stewart of Madison and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred; father, Fred; sisters, Barbara “Bobbie” Ann Harden, Susa Ruth McCutcheon; brothers, William Frederick Stewart, Jr., Robert Wayne Stewart, Henry Alexander Stewart and a niece Jamie Lou Riggleman.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Alamance Memorial Park by Pastor Reid Dickens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at her home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Burlington Animal Services, 221 Stone Quarry Road Burlington, NC 27217.
