Louis P. Alberghini

Louis P. Alberghini of Bridgewater passed away after a brief illness on Monday, April 21st, 2025. He was 90 years old.
Louis was born in Bridgewater where he lived his entire life. He graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1952. Following graduation, Louis was entered into a lottery system for the United States military draft. He was officially drafted in 1957, spending two years in the Army active duty in Maryland, and an additional two years in active reserves after he came home in 1959.
He worked in shoe manufacturing his entire career, working his way up from stocking to foreman. He was employed in management at Lucy Shoe factory in Bridgewater where he met his future wife, Mary Ann Martelli. Louis and Mary Ann dated for six months before getting married on February 23rd, 1964. They remained in Bridgewater where they raised their family.
Louis was a talented bowler for over 65 years. His bowling career landed him in many championships over the years, even on TV. He also enjoyed playing bocce and won in multiple tournaments, and even had his own bocce court at home. Louis held the role of president of the 49ers Club in Bridgewater from 1974 to 1978. He was crafty, enjoyed going fishing, and tending to his flower gardens. He enjoyed cooking Italian dishes passed down from his mother.
Louis was a quiet, easy-going man. He loved boosting the confidence of those around him, and was always the perfect gentleman and lived a simple life. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to his family.
Louis is predeceased by his parents, Louis Alberghini and Argia (Bretta), his brother Enio Alberghini, and his sisters Anita Pincolini and Olga Foscaldi.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary Ann Alberghini (Martelli). Devoted father of Louis Alberghini and his wife Lori of North Carolina, and Linda Alberghini-Pepsak and her husband Glen of Middleborough. Adored grandfather of Briana Alberghini of Connecticut and Ashley Alberghini of North Carolina. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, April 28th, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater, MA 02324. A funeral service will begin in the funeral home at 12:00 PM. Burial to follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in Bridgewater.
