Funeral services for Louis James Auttonberry, of Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 21, 2023 at First Baptist Church – Swartz with Rev. Jeff Smart officiating. Interment will be at Loch Arbor Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service, Thursday, December 21, 2023 at First Baptist Church – Swartz.
Louis was born on July 8, 1929 in Epps, LA and passed away Monday, December 18, 2023 at the age of 94. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson and Eula Mae Adams Auttonberry; wife, Lilly Maxine Hampton Auttonberry and son, Gary Toney.
He is survived by his wife Loree Dampier Auttonberry, son, James C. (Jim) Auttonberry and wife Becki; daughter, Rhonda Kay Hendrix and husband Marty; daughter, Chyleen Reynolds and husband Dwayn; son, Chris Toney; grandchildren, Clay Auttonberry (Beth), Clint Auttonberry (Jennifer), Erica Reynolds, Matthew Hendrix (Dara), Tyler Hendrix (Kaitlyn), Lara Christoffel (Dave), Leslie Storm (Ryan), Jared Reynolds (Jennifer), Andrew Hendrix ( Emily)and 17 great-grandchildren.
Louis will be remembered as a wonderful father, loving husband and Godly friend who had a great sense of humor and lived his life serving his Lord, Jesus Christ. His last job was as a sales manager for Sears for 35 years. Louis was very active in Lakeshore Baptist Church for several years and then at First Baptist Church-Swartz from 1978 until his death. While there, he served as deacon, teacher, bus driver, building and grounds superintendent and many other committees.
Pallbearers will be Louis' grandsons, Clay Auttonberry, Clint Auttonberry, Matthew Hendrix, Tyler Hendrix, Andrew Hendrix and Jared Reynolds.
