Louis E. Berger

Louis E. Berger, 78, of Green Springs, Ohio, brightened the world with his ambitious spirit and adventurous soul from his birth on July 5, 1947, in Curtice, OH, until his departure on November 12, 2025. A true jack of all trades, always extending a helping hand to anyone in need.
After marrying his beloved wife, Phyllis, on November 11, 1967, they began their journey together on a farm in Rice Township. Their adventure led them to Camden, MI, and finally to Green Springs in 1993. They attend Grace Community Church in Fremont, OH.
Louis was a farmer and later a dedicated technician at Hohler Sheet Metal, retiring in 2017 after many years of hard work. His retirement years were far from idle, Louis enjoyed building drift trikes, a joy he shared with his grandchildren and friends.
Louis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His family was the foundation of his world, and he was the rock upon which they leaned. He enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Michigan and boating on Lake Mead, Lake Turner, and Lake Rebeck. Louis's hardworking nature was rivaled only by his strong faith, which was at the core of everything he did and every decision he made. As stated in Proverbs 16:3, "Commit your activities to the Lord, and your plans will be achieved."
Louis is survived by his wife, Phyllis Berger of Green Springs, OH; his daughter, Angela Mahler of Fremont, OH; his grandchildren, Logan and Alexis Mahler, OH; his daughter-in-law, Dena Berger of Quincy, MI, his grandson, Chad Berger, and his wife, Kirby, and his great-grandchildren, Rhenleigh and Hendrik Berger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elroy and Vivian Berger; his son, Robert "Rob" Berger; his siblings, Meredith Berger, Cathryn Fiordelis, Bette Berger; and his son-in-law, David Mahler.
Visitation will be held on 5-7 pm, Friday, November 14, 2025, in the Auxter-Recker Funeral Home located at 218 South Main Street, Clyde, Ohio, 43410. Additional Visitation will be held 10:30am, Saturday, November 15, 2025 until Funeral Services at 11:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Rice Township. Memorial contributions in honor of Louis E. Berger may be made to the Grace Community Church, 900 Smith Road, Fremont, OH 43420.
