LOUIS J., Age 86, August 31, 2025. Of Rio Grande, NJ, formerly of South Philadelphia. Beloved husband of Maryanne Carbo (nee Polidoro). Devoted father of MaryLou Carbo, Louis J. (Lori) Carbo III, Lisa (Timothy) Cooney, and Christine (William) Malandrino. Loving grandfather of Alicia Cohen, Timothy Cooney, Jr., Andrew (Anita) Cooney, Amanda Malandrino, Jamie Cooney, and Madison Malandrino; Great grandfather of Timmy Cooney. Dear brother of the late Gloria Collins and Marie Reali; also survived by many nieces and nephews and godchildren.
Lou was a retired Sergeant of the Philadelphia Police Department who served from 1965-1996. The last district he served in was the First. He was a dedicated public servant who put the lives of others above his own. Known for his unwavering commitment to protecting and serving. He truly embodied the values of pride, integrity and courage.
The public can decide when to take a call but when you're a cop you have to take them all. He never betrayed his badge nor integrity or character. He stood beside and always championed his fellow officers.
He along with his wife, Maryanne were the former owners of MAGIC FLOWERS at 16th and Ritner Streets in South Philadelphia.
REST EASY; LAST WATCH.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Tuesday morning, September 9th, 9:00 to 10:15 A.M. at Stella Maris Church. 10th and Bigler Streets. Funeral Mass to begin 10:30 A.M.
Interment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
