Louis "Dean" Chambless, 81, passed away to his eternal home on January 25, 2026.
He was born to Victor Louis Chambless and Iris Avyle Phelps Chambless on March 18,
1944, in Orchard, Texas. Dean, as he was known, was a devoted crane operator and a
proud member of the Pecan Valley Church. A Navy veteran, he served his country
honorably and later found joy in fishing, tinkering, and building things with his hands.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Deannine VanMatre; brothers
Russel Phelps, Leonard Curtis Chambless, and Richard Allen Chambless; and sister
Shirley Mitchell.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Dorene Chambless;
children Bobby Packard (Robert), Rhonda Renee Kurkendall (Tommy), and Traci Marie
Rogers (Kenny); ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Iris Elaine Grant
and Gloria Jean Reeves; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

I worked with Dean many years operating cranes at Austin Industrial job sites. He always had a smile on his face and made the long working hours a breeze with his great attitude and personality in everything he did. He will be missed by me and many others.

Met dean in 1991. We worked many jobs together with brown and root great friend. I will miss him dearly
