Louis Waller Dillard, was called home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on June 16, 1944, in Washington, PA, Louis spent his final years in Snellville, GA, where he passed away due to congestive heart failure, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family.
Louis, a devout Christian, dedicated his life to embodying the teachings of Christ through his actions and words. He was a beacon of light and hope to all who knew him, and his unwavering faith was an inspiration to his family and community. As a retired auto worker, Louis was respected by his colleagues for his strong work ethic. He was not only a valued employee but also an active participant in various association involvements, where he contributed his time and skills with enthusiasm.
He shared a blessed and loving marriage with his wife, Catherine Dillard, who stood by his side in faith and love throughout their 58 year journey together. Louis was a proud father to his sons, Gregory and Kenneth Dillard, who will carry on his legacy of kindness and integrity. His sister, Pamela Davis, will fondly remember Louis for the bond they shared and the memories they created. His grandchild, Alaina Dillard, and great-grandson, Eiko Dillard, were the joys of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Louis also leaves behind a host of nephews and nieces, who were touched by his caring nature and steadfast presence.
Louis's passion for nature watching reflected his appreciation for God's creation, often finding peace and solace in the beauty of the outdoors. His involvement in church activities was a testament to his commitment to his faith and his desire to serve others. Louis also found great pleasure in the soothing melodies of jazz music, which brought comfort and joy to his heart.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Louis will remember him as a man who walked in wisdom, extended friendship to all, and approached life with a gentleness that was as rare as it was profound. His presence was a gift to his family, his friends, and his community, and his memory will be treasured in the hearts of those he touched.
We celebrate a life well-lived, a race well-run, and a man who was truly a reflection of Christ's love on earth. Louis's legacy will continue to live on through the lives he impacted and the love he shared.
