Loving son, husband, father, uncle, friend

Louis "Bill" Hastings, 66, of Livingston, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, after courageously facing health challenges in recent years.

Bill grew up in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Houston, Texas, and later attended Texas State in San Marcos, Texas.

On June 19, 1998, Bill married the love of his life, Kimberly Kellet-Hastings, and together they shared 27 wonderful years. Their greatest joy was opening their hearts and home through foster care and adoption, creating a loving family built on compassion and commitment.

Bill will be remembered as a devoted son, husband, father, uncle, and friend. He was laid back, outgoing, loving and caring. These are the qualities that drew people to him and made every moment spent with him special. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, visiting deer leases, looking at vehicles, and most of all spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly; his mother, Ann Hastings; his children, Kayla Hastings and Louis Christopher Hastings; his brother, Ken Hastings; his sister, Nina Hedrick; his nieces, Missy Hedrick, Rebecca Hastings, and Melanie Hastings; his nephews, Rick Hedrick and Phillip Hastings; and family friends Mark Lewis and Lawrence Dirden.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at a later date in Livingston, Texas. Instead of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a foster care or adoption charity of your choice, honoring Bill's lifelong dedication to family and children in need or to the Texas School for the Blind.
