Louis F Iovine

Louis F. Iovine, 83, of Springfield, NJ passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at his home with his loving family at his side.
Louis was born on December 4, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY. He was the son of Olympia (nee Nunziata) and Joseph A. Iovine. Mr. Iovine grew up in Brooklyn, NY and remained a longtime resident until moving to New Jersey 15 years ago. He attended St. John's University where he studied law and received his Professional Degree. Louis had a successful career as an Attorney, Vice President at AIG Insurance Company and was the owner of 21st Ave Transportation in New York City until his retirement. He was extremely generous in helping anyone who was in need of financial assistance & donated to many churches, Catholic Missions, & other organizations for the needy. In the little spare time he had, he enjoyed going to the casinos in AC & Aruba, playing Blackjack and Craps and loved going out to dinner. He was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia 5 years ago & lived under the care of his daughter Elizabeth in her home. He was passionate about donating money towards Lewy Body Dementia Research and spreading more awareness about the, often misdiagnosed as Alzheimer's, disease. Above all he was devoted to his faith and loving family.
Louis is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Gloria (nee Colella), his loving children, Joseph Iovine and his wife Tina, Elizabeth Acquisto and her husband Scott and Nicole Iovine. He was the brother of Gregory Iovine and his wife Carol and the cherished grandfather of, Joelle, Louis, Joseph, Daniella, Roberto, Isabella and AJ. Louis was predeceased by his daughter, Danielle Prieto and her husband Alfred and his grandson, Antonio Prieto. Louis is also predeceased by his siblings, Theresa Prato and her husband Joe and Jacqueline Tucci and her husband Vinny.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, August 7th from 4:00-9:00 PM at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave, Berkeley Heights, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, August 8th at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Church, 111 South St., New Providence, NJ. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Garden Mausoleum, Woodbridge, NJ.
