Maria Fanny Barsa

Maria Fanny Barsa (nee Garcia), of North Plainfield, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, at the age of 75.

A Family Gathering and Prayer Service will be held in Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mt. Airy Rd., Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Arrangements are by the Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, Berkeley Heights, NJ.

Mrs. Barsa was born in El Aguila, Colombia and has been a resident of North Plainfield, NJ for over 27 years.

She was a dedicated and loving homemaker to her family. She was a devoted Catholic who traveled to many different countries with her church group.

Maria is the loving mother of Jorge Barsa (Susan) and Adrian Barsa (Toni); cherished grandmother of Jorge "my Jorgie" Barsa and the dear sister of Orfindey, Yulieth, Mirency, Girlesa, Emilsa, Yolanda, Orfinsa, Beatriz Liliana, and Juan Carlos. She was a devoted and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, whom she cherished deeply and felt blessed to watch grow and begin families of their own.

She was pre-deceased by her loving husband George "Jorge" Barsa, her parents, Gerardo and Emilsa Olga Garcia and her brothers, Walter and Gerardo.

There will be a mass on Saturday August 30th 9:30 AM at Saint Joseph's Church, 41 Manning Ave North Plainfield NJ.

Mass will be offered in Spanish.
