Louis Antonio Kerswill (known as Tony) passed from this life June 12th 2025. He was born on July 10th 1962, in Raritan Township, New Jersey, to parents Luis Mercado and Marguerite Kerswill. He was raised alongside his brother, Darryl in Marietta, Georgia.
Louis attended Marietta High School and earned his GED. He met the love of his life, Katherine, through friends. The couple had been married for 30 years and shared 3 wonderful children. Louis worked with his hands in many roles as a millwright, welder, and machine builder. He enjoyed building items out of wood or, especially stainless steel, trailers, cabinets, etc. He wanted to be remembered for the things he could build and create with his hands. He considered his hands to be his best feature, and when he was building or creating for family, it was always done with love.
Louis had a strong faith and love for the Lord. He was also an animal lover, especially his dog, Mia, and his cat, Fancy. His family was the most important to him. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Louis is preceded in death by his parents; Luis Mercado and Marguerite Kerswill. He is survived by his wife, Katherine, his children; Leslie (Adam) Baker of Cartersville, GA, Luis (Charity) Kerswill of Newnan, GA and Kyle Kerswill of Newnan, GA, his grandchildren; Grace Warner, Scarlett Baker, Charlie and Catherine Kerswill, and his brother; Darryl Mercado of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Louis (Tony) will be remembered by his infectious laugh, big personality, and smile. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
