Louis Mayeaux Obituary
Opelousas- Funeral Services will be held for Louis Anthony Mayeaux, on Monday, August 4, 2025 in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Benny Reppond will officiate the service. A visitation will be held on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p. m. in the funeral home.
Louis, born on July 23, 1962, in Bunkie, Louisiana, passed away on August 1, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, remembered as a very loving and kind person by all who had the privilege to know him.
Louis dedicated his career to roofer construction, showcasing his remarkable work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. He proudly served in the Army, exemplifying his dedication to his country and community.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 11 years, Michelle Vercher of Opelousas, who stood by his side throughout their years together. Louis was a devoted father to his sons, Frankie Bryant of Opelousas and Dustin McWilliams of New Iberia, and to his daughters, Kleigh Bryant and Kristel Fontenot, both of Opelousas. His family extended beyond his children to include his cherished sisters, Robbin Reynolds of Shreveport and Joye Browser (Barry) of South Carolina.
Grandchildren were a light in Louis's life; he adored Angel Boyer, Brandon Herrington, and Alana Boyer. He also enjoyed the joys of being a great grandfather to Sofia Herrington, Azriel Boyer, and A J Boyer. Often surrounded by the laughter and love of his family, Louis cherished the moments spent with his mother-in-law, Maxine Firmin of Opelousas, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Louis is predeceased by his parents, Joseph Louis and Aline Mayeaux, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became.
His legacy will continue to live on through his family and the countless lives he touched with his gentle spirit. Louis Anthony Mayeaux will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
