He was born in New London, Connecticut on February 16, 1938 to Leroy F. and Christine (Tringe) Miner.
Louis grew up in Norwich and worked as a forklift operator for many years at Plastic Wire and Cable.
He was caring person with a great sense of humor and was well known for his involvement in AA. He was an inspiration, mentor, and friend to many people over his 36 year involvement with the organization.
He is survived by his son Louis R. Minerr Jr. of Connecticut, stepsons Jeffrey Fowler of South Carolina, and Brian Fowler of Massachusetts; sister Cecilia Hanley of Florida; grandchildren Kayla Miner and Karen Fowler; longtime companion Pam Patterson and her family; He was predeceased by his wife Barbra, daughter Laura, and many brothers and sisters.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 9th from 5-7 pm at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 11 Jerome Rd, Uncasville. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Cemetery, 815 Boswell Ave, Norwich.
