Louis E. Pearson, age 69, of Herrin, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025 at his home.
He was born Monday, October 8, 1956 in Carbondale, a son of Robert Harold and Vinita Ruth (Allen) Pearson. He married the love of his life, Betty Jo (Stanton) Pearson in Paducah, Kentucky on May 1, 1989. She survives in Herrin.
Louis, a man of adventure and eclectic interests, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of friendship. In his younger years, Louis worked as a house painter and later as a newspaper carrier, laying the foundation for a life filled with hard work.
Louis' true passions lay in his free time, where he could be found riding his motorcycle, immersing himself in science-fiction movies, or expanding his collection of Native American items. His friendly demeanor and outgoing personality made him a beloved figure, and he effortlessly connected with people from all walks of life.
Louis was known for his talkative nature, often engaging in conversations with anyone who would listen - sometimes even those who wouldn't. His laughter and stories will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife- Betty Pearson of Herrin; son- Louis E. Pearson, Jr. of Herrin; daughter- Cindy Lyn Pearson of Murphysboro; daughter- Peggy Jane Pearson of Carbondale; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother- Larry Pearson of Mt Vernon; and sister- Patsy Hartline of Marion.
He is preceded in death by his parents, beloved daughter- Hana Christine Pearson, and three siblings.
The family will hold private services at a later date.
