Louis J. Perz, 89, of Monticello, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at White Oak Health Campus in.
He was born on August 16, 1936 in Indiana Harbor, IN to the late Louis and Anna Perz. On September 16, 1968 he married Constance "Connie" Mroz in East Chicago, IN. She survives.
He was a graduate of Washington High School in East Chicago. Louis worked as an electrical wireman at LTV Steel for over 30 years before retiring.He was a member of the American Legion Post #369 in East Chicago, past president of Club Ki-Yowga in East Chicago, and past member of AMVETS in Monticello. After retirement, he moved to Monticello for peace, quiet and fishing. He always made sure there was beer and bait in the fridge for everyone.
In addition to his wife, Connie, he is survived by son, Jason A. Perz of Valparaiso; three grandchildren, Chase Perz of Valparaiso, Kristana Perz of Lafayette, Jake Perz of AZ; great granddaughter, Niomi; extended family, Michelle & David "Kingford" Blount.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers.
Per Louis' wishes, no public services are planned.
