At the age of 91, Louise Chambers Haney went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 8, 2024 with family by her side. She was born in Haywood County and lived there most of her life. She graduated from the Memorial Mission School of Nursing and worked for Haywood Regional Medical Center for 36 years as a Registered Nurse and Nursing Supervisor. Louise loved her church family at Clyde Central United Methodist Church and people watching at Lake Junaluska.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dean Haney; mother and father, Woodrow & Katy Chambers; her brothers, Robert and Wilson Chambers; and daughter-in-law, Jane Haney.
She is survived by her son, Terry Haney of Valdosta, GA; her daughter, Laura White (Bill) of Flowery Branch, GA; three handsome grandsons; six great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. She had many friends who cared about her including her lifelong friend, Laurie. Her friends: Allene, Matt, Linda, Ruth, Frances and many others were faithful friends for many years. Marie, a new friend, stepped into her life and brought her much joy.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Bill White officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road, Canton. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
A special thanks to Oaks at Braselton and Family Hospice for caring for her in the last months of her life.
