Josephine Louise Levi, aged 87, was born on April 10, 1938, in the serene surroundings of Henderson County, North Carolina. She peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 12, 2025, at TerraBella Hendersonville, reuniting with her beloved husband of 67 years, Elmer "Junior" Levi, who passed away just two months prior, on March 5, 2025.
A devoted homemaker, Louise dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for her family. Her loving nature extended beyond her immediate family, as she tenderly cared for her parents, children, and grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Louise had a deep love for Christmas, and her joy for the season was evident in her beautifully decorated home and yard. Her holiday spirit brought warmth and joy to all who visited, creating lasting memories for family and friends alike.
A proud graduate of Edneyville High School, Louise's life was a testament to her faith and values, which she exemplified through her kindness and generosity. She was preceded in death by, in addition to her husband, Elmer "Junior" Levi, her parents, Reverend Quay Corn and Mae Bell Sims Corn; five sisters, Betty Gilliam, Ruth Brackett, Lois Barnwell, Margaret "Birdie" Clark, and Mary Henderson; and her brother, David Corn.
She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Wanda Bodenhamer (Virgil) and Vicki Hyder (Fred), both residing in
Hendersonville, North Carolina; her cherished grandchildren, Sherry Gabbard (Jim), Brian Hyder (Mary), and Matthew Bodenhamer (Hope); and her precious great-grandchildren, Keegan Gabbard, Randi Lynn Hyder, and Laurel Bodenhamer. Louise is also survived by her sister, Juanita "Pie" Jackson (Gerald), and her brother, Wilburn Corn (Gladys), who will hold dear the many memories they shared.
A funeral service celebrating Louise's life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Gerald Lyda. Family and friends are invited to gather from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. before the service to offer their condolences and share stories of her remarkable life. Louise will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville.
