Louise M. Segedi, born on December 11, 1946 in Manhattan, NY, passed away suddenly and peacefully on the beautiful, warm 3rd day of October 2025 with family by her side in Cleveland, OH. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister, Louise's vibrant spirit touched the lives of many.
Though encouraged to become a teacher, her dream was to be a secretary. And she fulfilled it, working for corporations in Cleveland until becoming a mom. At which time she quickly moved up from secretary to CEO (Chief Entertainment Officer), CFO (Chief Family/Fun/Finance Officer), Head Chef, and Director of Transportation.
She could strike up a conversation with anyone and joyfully share a bit of her life with strangers while in line at the grocery store or while cheering on her children and grandsons at sporting events and auditoriums. Her group of friends was small, but meant the world to her and brought her tremendous joy. Louise's passions included reading, crocheting, coloring, and rooting for the Guardians and Buckeyes, but she was most passionate about her family.
Louise is survived by her loving husband, Milan Segedi of Austinburg and her devoted children: Karen Cheezan of Key West, FL, Kevin (Gabriella) Segedi of Willoughby, Kris (Jennifer) Segedi of Painesville, and Kristen Segedi of Austinburg. She also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren who she loved dearly, Victor, Michael, Anthony, Nicholas, and Sofia, who will forever honor the love and warmth she brought into their lives.
In addition to her immediate family, Louise is survived by her siblings, who will hold dear her memory: Vincent (Ava) Mancini of Beachwood, Thomas (Elaine) Mancini of Twinsburg, and Maria (Richard Woodward) Gaeta of Highland Heights.
She was predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Margaret (nee: Nicholas) Mancini, whose influence shaped her into the caring and compassionate person she became.
A visitation to honor Louise’s memory will take place on October 7, 2025, at Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes in Painesville from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Following this, a Mass will be celebrated in her honor on October 8, 2025, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Concord, commencing at 12:00 PM and concluding at 1:00 PM. The family will then meet with their friends at Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland for a 2:30pm graveside service. Please enter though the Euclid Ave. gate.
As we remember Louise M. Segedi, we celebrate her legacy of love and connection. Her family and friends will carry forward her spirit, forever grateful for the time shared with her.
