Lowell E. Howard of Grand Ledge passed away February 24, 2023 at home with his loving family by his side. Lowell was born December 11, 1933 in Lake George, Michigan to the late Roy and Viva (Miller) Howard. He graduated from Farwell High School in the Class of 1951 and went on to proudly serve his country in the United Stated Army during the Korean War. Following his service, Lowell began working as a Pipe Fitter at General Motors and through his career had transitioned into a Skill Trades Supervisor retiring after more than 30 years. Lowell was active in the Grand Ledge community serving others for many years in the Grand Ledge Lions Club. He received the Lions Club Melvin Jones Fellowship Award which is the highest form of recognition and embodies humanitarian ideas consistent with the nature and purpose of Lionism. The recipient of this award becomes a model because of the exemplary service to his club and the community for which it serves. Lowell looked forward to spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and will be missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife of over sixty-four years, Janet (Hendee); sons, Tom (Theada) and Greg (Michelle); grandchildren, Daniel (Crystal), Mackenzie and Morgan Howard; great grandchildren, Roman and Greysen along with brother, Terry (Marilyn) Howard. Lowell was preceded in death by his brothers, Gale, Marvin, Al and Max.

I wish to offer my condolence to his sons and their families. Lowell was not only my neighbor for over 25 years, but a good friend who will be deeply missed.
