Lowery Worley Obituary
Lowery was born on July 15, 1941, in Marshall, NC, to the late Theodore R. Worley and Zura Payne Worley. He lived in Marshall for most of his life. He joined the US Army early in life and was stationed in Belgium. Upon returning home, he started with Mason Dixon trucking and then going on to CF trucking company, where he drove a truck for many years until his retirement. Lowery was also an active member of the French Broad Masonic Lodge #292 for 61 years and a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Lowery loved farming and raising cattle. His close family and neighbors knew him as a generous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
In addition to his parents, Lowery was preceded in death by his son, Andrew (Andy) Darrin Worley and his sister, Thora Worley McElroy.
Left to cherish his memory are his long-time companion, Geraldine Brown; his daughter, Holly Worley Broadwater (Richard), of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren: Jordan Broadwater, Bryson Broadwater, Logan Broadwater, Cody and Darren Worley; sisters, Mary Anne Rahn of Pennsylvania and Carolyn Dockery of North Carolina; multiple nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mr. Worley will be held on Wednesday, February 25th at 2 pm in the chapel of Madison Funeral Services with Pastors Randy Burrell and Robert Hawkins officiating. Masonic Rites will be given by French Broad #292. The family with receive friends from 12 pm – 2 pm, prior to the service.
Burial will be held following the service at Kirk Payne Cemetery where the US Army National Guard will provide military honors.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Four Seasons Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided during the most difficult times.

I have missed seeing he and Geraldine at the Burger Parlor in the past few months. He was always smiling and ready to talk about school days! My deepest sympathy to his family!
