LuAnn Vissering Obituary

LuAnn was born on June 29, 1955 to the late B. Eldon and Louise (Marshall) Johnson. She married John H. Vissering, Sr. on August 13, 1977.
Surviving are her husband, John, of Chillicothe, IL; her son, John Vissering, Jr., of Chillicothe, IL; her daughter, Jennifer (Carl Mynes) Vissering of Lacon, IL; her granddaughter, Anjelina Vissering of Chillicothe, IL; her brother, Richard (Cheryl) Johnson of Ozark, MO; and her sister, Nancy (Mike) LoPiccalo of Pontiac, IL.
LuAnn started her career at State Farm and then worked for Mid America Growers. She transitioned to a stay-at-home mom until her kids were in grade school. She rejoined the workforce with Lake Wildwood Association. After taking some college courses she became an administrative assistant working for the Soil and Water Conservation, Prairie Rivers RC&D, and eventually retired from the IRS. LuAnn enjoyed spending her free time with her family, gardening and landscaping, and doing arts and crafts. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Everyone who knew LuAnn loved her and she will be dearly missed.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 7pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe, IL with visitation beginning at 5pm. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 10am at Nebraska Township Cemetery in Flanagan, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a college fund for Anjelina Vissering
