Kyle, Texas. Born on October 29, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas, to Jerry Cullers and Sarah "Sally" Meng, Lucas was a cherished soul whose generosity touched the lives of many.
Raised by Sally, Lucas grew up in the vibrant city of Austin, where he graduated from David Crockett High School. His quest for knowledge led him to Park College, where he earned a degree in Physics, demonstrating his keen interest in understanding the world around him. His academic achievements laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
After completing Air Force training, Lucas embarked on a career that spanned various industries and roles. He contributed his talents to Fisher Rosemount, Texas Instruments, and ABIA. His professional journey was marked by dedication and a commitment to excellence. Later in life, Lucas found his true calling in the world of real estate, where he became a respected realtor, known for his integrity and sincerity.
Lucas's deep sense of compassion also led him to start a non-profit organization dedicated to helping pregnant women in need. This endeavor was a testament to his selfless nature and his desire to make a positive impact on society.
A man of diverse interests, Lucas had a particular fondness for the imaginative worlds of science fiction and action. He would often immerse himself in shows such as Gunsmoke, X-Files, Xena and Hercules, and the iconic Star Trek series. John Wayne movies also held a special place in his heart, and he enjoyed the escapism and excitement they provided. These shows and films were a familiar backdrop to the loving home he created, often playing as he cooked or went about his day.
Family was the cornerstone of Lucas's life. He was a devoted father to his sons, Kevin and Matthew Cullers, from his first marriage to Carmen Cullers, and a caring stepfather to Mikel DeLeon from his second marriage to Kathy Deleon. His extended family also held an essential place in his life. Lucas was a pillar of support, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer guidance. His involvement in his children's education and extracurricular activities was unwavering, and he continued to be a steady presence as they navigated adulthood.
