Lucia Diaz, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother, passed away on April 9, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on July 6, 1927, in Yorktown, Texas and she led a rich and vibrant life filled with 96 years of love, laughter, and cherished moments.  She married Faustino Diaz on February 16, 1944, in Cuero, Texas and had a deep passion for life and found joy in simple pleasures. She had a fondness for playing bingo, watching old movies, and tuning into shows like "El Gordo y La Flaca," "Sabado Gigante." and "The Price is Right" which she actually visited twice in person but unfortunately was never called. 

In her journey beyond this life, Lucia has been reunited with her beloved husband, Faustino Diaz; three sons, Francisco Diaz, Manuel Diaz and Jessie Diaz; one daughter, Juanita Diaz; five brothers: Lolo Garza, Robert Garza, Adan Garza, Cruz Garza, Apolonio Garza; as well as five sisters: Evita Garza, Paule Pena, Amelia Garcia, Edelia Guerra, and Juana Vela. 

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family and friends which include her two sons: Johnny & Josephina Diaz and Faustino Diaz Jr.; five daughters: Rosa Diaz, Gloria & Louie Garcia, Yesenia & Tony Groth, Yirma Aguilar, Linda Diaz; along with one sister: Elvira Garcia; thirty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 

A visitation for Lucia will be held on April 14th from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Broadway Funeral Directors in Lubbock. A rosary will follow from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on the same day. A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, April 15th starting at 10:00 AM in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors with Father Martin Pina officiating.
