Lucia Rosa

Lucia Rosa, lovingly known to many as "Ea," passed away on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, at Jersey Medical Center. She was 84.
Lucia was born in Puerto Rico and eventually made her way to Jersey City, where she built a life full of love, community, and quiet strength. In her younger years, she worked hard in a fabric factory, but it was later in life that she truly became the heart of her neighborhood. She always offered a helping hand, a warm meal, or just a listening ear to anyone who needed it. Her door was always open, her table always had room, and her love was endless.
A devout Catholic, Lucia was a faithful member of Saint Paul of the Cross Church, where she found comfort and connection. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of spending time with the people she loved, watching her favorite telenovelas, and visiting the horse track on the weekends.
She is survived by her children in Puerto Rico, Sonia and David Altreche Rosa, as well as by the many, many others she loved and cared for like her own.
Lucia's legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her generosity, wisdom, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed, and never forgotten.
A service will be held at Saint Paul of the Cross on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10:00 am.
