Frederick Christian Bunk, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law,
uncle, and friend, passed away on August 25, 2025, in Morristown, NJ, surrounded by
his loving family. He was born on May 24, 1955, in Newark, NJ, to Harry and Genevieve
Bunk.
Fred grew up in Bloomfield, NJ and attended Bloomfield High School and continued his
education at R.E.T.S Electronic School.
Fred lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, an unwavering work ethic, and a quiet
strength. He was a gentle soul who always offered a helping hand – whether to family,
friends, or neighbors – never expecting anything in return.
On October 12, 1985, Fred married his dear wife, Dawn. Together, they created a home
filled with love, laughter and cherished memories and traditions along with their two
daughters Kimberly and Kristen. Some of the happiest of those were family vacations
on Long Beach Island, where Fred enjoyed the ocean, long days in the sun, and
evenings playing miniature golf with his family. Most of all, Fred treasured time with his
two grandchildren, Kove and Reese, bringing play time and laughter into every visit.
Fred found joy in the simple pleasures of life including cooking, music, and the
outdoors. He was an avid pickleball player who loved both the sport and the friendships
it brought. He found peace on the water in his canoe or kayak with a fishing pole in
hand. He also had a passion for craft brewing, often experimenting with new recipes
and proudly sharing a cold pint with those lucky enough to taste his creations.
More than his hobbies, it was his love and care for people that defined him. He will be
remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle,
and friend, whose kindness and warmth made everyone feel welcome.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Genevieve Bunk, brother James
Bunk, mother-in-law Janet Ceriani, brothers-in-law Nicholas Sauter and Richard Tissot,
and niece Sara Gene Quinn.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn Bunk (Tissot), his daughters Kimberly (Rich)
Donadio, Kristen Bunk, grandchildren Kove and Reese Donadio, sister Kathleen (Ron)
Rowe, brothers Brian (Toni Lyn) Bunk, Peter (Kelly) Bunk, sisters-in-law Donna Bunk,
Donna Tissot, Deborah Sauter, cherished family friend Michele Cappetta, and many
loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 4:00-7:00pm at Par-Troy Funeral
Home, 95 Parsippany Rd., Parsippany, NJ 07054. A funeral service to honor and
celebrate Fred's life will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Angels Roman Catholic
Church, 473 Main St., Little Falls, NJ 07424 on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 9:30am. In
